It’s always good to have a few non-alcoholic cocktail recipes on hand. Whenever you host a party or have a small gathering at your home, you want to be able to offer mocktails to guests that don’t drink alcohol, those that are temporarily abstaining from alcohol or guests that are underage. Non-alcoholic cocktails are fun drinks to serve at a party for teens.
Dried fruit is gaining popularity as a cocktail or mocktail ingredient. Dehydrated peaches are an excellent ingredient for non-alcoholic drinks. Dried fruit has a much longer shelf life than fresh fruit making them a convenient and easily stored item to use as a substitute for fresh fruit. In addition to the fruit, you’ll want to have some type of sparkling drink on hand to make your mocktail fancier or more impressive. For the sparkling effect, you can use club soda, tonic water, ginger ale or sparkling juice. To add boldness to the flavor of a mocktail, you can prepare a simple syrup to use when you prepare the drink. A simple syrup is made by combining 1 part sweetener, 1 part water and some dried fruit, herbs or spices. Simmer the mixture until sugar dissolves. Dried fruit will rehydrate in the warm water. Once the sugar has dissolved, strain the liquid and use it to flavor your mocktail.
In addition to using dried fruit in non-alcoholic drinks, you can use the fruit as a garnish. Garnishing a drink with gorgeous bright-orange dried peaches adds beauty and sophistication to the drink. Emphasize the dried peach flavor even more by serving sweet treats made with dehydrated peaches.
You can create amazing mocktails using non-alcoholic gin, Tequila and rum. You can substitute dried peaches for fresh fruit in a virgin peach Daquiri, virgin Margarita or non-alcoholic mimosa. You can prepare a dried fruit infusion to elevate the flavor of your non-alcoholic drinks. Fruit-infused ice cubes can add flavor to your sparkling mocktails. You can even incorporate some herbs in the infusion to create interesting and refreshing flavors.
