Nutritional Content

Flax seeds are low in digestible carbohydrates. These healthy seeds are made up of 18% protein. They are high in amino acids arginine and glutamine. Flaxseeds contain omega-6 fatty acids and the omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA.) The body can’t produce ALA so it’s essential to get it from foods. Flaxseed oil is the best source of ALA. Flaxseed meal is also a good source of ALA. Two tablespoons of flaxseed fiber provide between 15 to 25% of the daily recommended amount of fiber.
