When you get a craving for a sweet and salty snack, yogurt pretzels are one of the best ways to satisfy that craving. There’s a pleasing amount of crunchiness in yogurt covered pretzels. There are also numerous ways to customize the flavor when you prepare this delightful treat at home.
You only need three ingredients to make basic yogurt pretzels. Those ingredients are a bag of miniature pretzels, 2 cups of flavored yogurt, and 5 cups of confectioner sugar.
The first step in the process is to preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Secondly, you’ll need to prepare a place to put the pretzels once they are coated. You can cover a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and place a wire rack on the baking pan. With those preparations completed, you’re ready to create the coating. To do so, mix the yogurt and confectioners sugar in a large mixing bowl. Using tongs, submerge the pretzels in the mixture then place them on the wire rack. Once all the pretzels are coated, turn the oven off and place the baking sheet with the wire rack and pretzels on it in the oven. Leave the oven door open slightly. It will take 3-4 hours for the coating to dry completely. Once they are completely dry, put them in an air-tight container.
Yogurt dipped pretzels are an equally delicious treat. You can use the same mixture as mentioned above. Just dip 1/2 to 3/4 of the pretzel rather than coating it entirely. Yogurt dipped pretzels are a popular item on a party table. You can add sprinkles or drizzle them with chocolate to make them even more delicious. They’re also a good family night snack food.
If you want to tantalize your tastebuds, delight your family, or impress party guests, introduce them to Neapolitan pretzels. Pink, brown and white Neapolitan pretzels have the expected wonderful flavors of strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla.
When making homemade yogurt covered pretzels you can experiment with various flavors of yogurt or seedless preserves. You can also add a sprinkling of finely chopped nuts, colored sugar, or multi-colored sprinkles before the coating completely dries.
