Peach and Blueberry Dumplings Recipes

When you have dried peaches and dried blueberries in your pantry, you have the main component readily available for making fantastic fruit dumplings. Dried fruit can be rehydrated and used in recipes in the same way as fresh fruit.
You can rehydrate dried fruit by soaking it overnight. However, a faster way to rehydrate it is to put the dried fruit in a bowl and cover it with boiling water. Let the fruit steep for approximately 15 minutes then drain and discard the water.
Peach dumplings can be made using dried peaches that you have rehydrated. The following recipe is to be made in a 9×13 pan. You’ll need: 2 cans of Crescent Roll dough, 16 peach slices, 3/4 cup butter, melted, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract and a 12 ounce can of citrus soda such as Sprite, Ginger Ale or 7-Up.
To prepare the dumplings, roll a peach slice in each crescent roll triangle starting at the largest end. Place each rolled triangle in the baking dish. Combine the melted butter, both sugars, cinnamon, and vanilla and pour over the top of the dumplings. Pour 2/3 of the can of soda along the edge of the pan and between the dumplings. Do not pour it over the top of the dumplings. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 35-40 minutes.
With 5 ingredients you can make delicious blueberry dumplings. The ingredients you need are 2 cups of blueberries (you can use rehydrated dried blueberries if you don’t have fresh berries), 1 can large-size biscuits, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, water and 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Place berries in a saucepan. add water to cover the berries and cook until soft. Cut each biscuit into halves or quarters and drop into saucepan with berries. Cook until thickened. When thickened, stir in cinnamon and sugar.
Peach and blueberry dumplings are a tasty combination. Simply mix the two fruits into whatever dumpling recipe you prefer. You can enjoy peach and blueberry dumplings and cobblers through the year using dried fruit as an ingredient.
